Project Overview

Located just a three-minute walk from Brighton train station, the Brinell Building is a contemporary commercial development delivering 65,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office accommodation across seven floors. Designed to attract high-quality tenants, the building offers flexible, modern workspaces in a prime city-centre location.

The Building

The Brinell Building has been developed to meet the expectations of today’s occupiers, combining accessibility, high-specification interiors and efficient building services to support comfortable, productive working environments.

The Lighting Control Solution

zencontrol delivered a fully addressable DALI-2 lighting control system throughout the building, providing intelligent and energy-efficient control across all office areas. The system comprises DALI-2 Luminaire Control Modules (LCMs), PIR presence detectors and configurable Scene Sets, enabling precise control of lighting levels and behaviour.

Sustainability & Energy Efficiency

The lighting control system supports the building’s sustainability objectives by reducing unnecessary energy consumption through occupancy detection and scene-based control. By ensuring lighting is only used when and where it is needed, the solution contributes to lower operational energy use and supports long-term carbon reduction targets.

Intelligent Control & User Experience

Lighting scenes can be tailored to suit different working modes, improving occupant comfort while optimising energy use. An intuitive graphical user interface enables facilities teams to make system changes quickly and easily, providing clear visibility and straightforward control of the lighting infrastructure.

The result is a future-ready lighting control system that enhances workspace quality, supports efficient building operation and delivers long-term value for owners and occupiers.
