One of the outstanding dates on the calendars of National Hunt racing enthusiasts is nearly upon us and for a Stafford based lighting control company, zencontrol, it represents another high profile first past the post winner.

The redevelopment of Cheltenham Racecourse is now complete and has seen a total of 14 different projects being undertaken within a 19-month period. The improvements firmly, and further, cement Cheltenham as the outstanding Home of Jump racing, providing unrivalled facilities at one of the iconic venues of British sport.

zencontrol were employed to provide an addressable DALI based lighting control system to all front of house areas and external lighting within the new Princess Royal Stand.

The system provides a combination of presence detection, absence detection, regulating photocells and scene recall.

The company also installed bespoke iPad interfaces into the royal box, the private boxes and the bar areas for customised scene control, complete with colour change functionality.

For the Stafford based business it is just the latest in a string of impressive sporting contracts. The company have been involved in providing lighting systems at The Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Copperbox Arena and Derby Velodrome amongst others.

Reason no doubt for a few pints of Guinness to be raised at the onset of the first, famous, Cheltenham roar.
